What Lies Inside, Blood Bound Book One, by J.L. Myers is a new adult paranormal romance novel about a teenage vampire named Amelia who doesn’t know that she’s a teenage vampire. That is, until the day her parents tell her that her life as a human has been a lie, and that she will be sixteen forever. How would you feel if you were told today that you were a vampire? Of course we would just be thrilled, right? Well let’s just say that Amelia doesn’t exactly handle it very well.
After realizing she’s the largest unnatural threat to humankind and specifically her high school classroom, she sucks the team quarterback bone dry and has to move to a new town and a new school filled with new wonderful aromas of blood. That’s where she meets the irresistible Ty who smells amazingly different to her, but is it in a good, or a terrible way?
This story has some similarities to Twilight and other vampire novels, but definitely has its own take on the subject. It moves fairly quickly for being a longer book, and it has a lot of surprises to keep things interesting. If you couldn’t tell from the cover, the book is definitely geared for older YA readers, and has some swearing and a fair amount of adult intimacy. It currently has a 4.6 out of 5 stars rating on Amazon, and books two, three and four are also available.
